Hi… I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, just in case you don’t know me. My name is Jay Houck, I am a husband, (married 33 years), I am a dad, and a grandpa. I love the Lord and through His love, I love people! I like to tell stories, some are real and some are exaggerated a bit… it will be up to you to find out which is real and which is exaggerated. I have gone through some battles in life, and I have been by the side of many who have gone through battles… I have learned that in order to go through these battles, you have to care enough to battle. Through these battles, there are many scars, some physical, others mental and some even physical. I have found that even though there was healing, there are still scars, some can be seen, and others are there where no one else can see.
This blog, and possibly a future book came from a dream. One night, I was having a dream, I can’t even tell you what the dream was about, but I can tell you I heard these words, Care Enough to Battle. I woke up from the dream, I told Andrea, my wife, about those words, and then moved on. A few weeks later, maybe even longer than that, Andrea comes to me and reminds me of those words, and said, “It’s the title of your book.” As I ponder on these words, I have so many stories to share, some inspiring, and some heart aches… but I am an encourager and I will leave each story with some sort of encouragement.
